We have partnered with the 'American Academy of Health & Fitness' (AAHF) to provide you with some great continuing education credit (CEC) opportunities. In this course, compelling reasons and comprehensive information are presented for reversing the pervasive problem of youth inactivity and the growing epidemic of childhood obesity. JrFit™ offers a highly effective plan for enabling young people to increase their fitness and reduce their body fat through well-researched programs of physical conditioning and nutrition. These practical recommendations include guidelines for sensible strength training and healthy eating. This extensive course includes STRENGTH & POWER FOR YOUNG ATHLETES (216 pages) by Westcott and Faigenbaum; Athletic Fitness for Kids (184 pages) by Lancaster and Teodorescu; and FUEL for YOUNG ATHLETES (192 pages) by Litt; a 120-page workbook and examination and qualifies for up to 24 hours of CEU credit with major certifying organizations. Instructions for completing the online examination and obtaining CEU credit are also included. Course objectives are: 1. Learn and appreciate how to guide youth in developing a functional musculoskeletal system for fitness and health. 2. Gain knowledge of safe and effective program prescription; correct training techniques and form; and injury prevention for youth. 3. Understand equipment and exercises for entire body essential movements; including flexibility, coordination, balance, stamina, strength, speed and agility. 4. Be aware of and be capable of conducting sports specific training and activities; including power, jumping, striking and endurance. 5. Identify what motivates youth and discover how to create an age friendly environment. 6. Identify dietary needs for health, weight gain or loss, strength, endurance and sports specific nutrition. Bonus! With the purchase of 25 or more program packages, the American Academy of Health and Fitness offers a complimentary eight-hour workshop featuring strength-training expert Wayne Westcott and Tammy Petersen. The workshop provides safe and effective guidelines for implementing successful youth strength training programs based on the extensive research conducted by Drs. Avery Faigenbaum and Wayne Westcott. Emphasis is placed on specific training factors (exercises, resistance, repetitions, sets, frequency, etc.) and proven training protocols. Attendees will take home the JrFit™ program package to study at their own pace and earn 19-24 hours of CEU credit from their certification organizations after completion of an online test at a future date of their choice.
