Image  A lifelong passion for sports and a strong desire to help others led Andrea to a career in health & fitness.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara, and her master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science & Health Promotion from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  While in school, Andrea was a nutrition and eating disorders peer health educator, and a graduate teaching assistant in health education, exercise physiology and motor learning.  After graduation, Andrea was the Program Manager of a comprehensive corporate health & fitness program at a biotechnology company, where she was able to engage her love for exercise & health promotion by building a fitness program from the ground up, teaching group exercise classes & wellness seminars, designing incentive programs and working with clients.
Since becoming Pilates certified in 2004, Andrea has had the opportunity to teach people from all walks of life including athletes, business professionals, pre & post natal clients, individuals recovering from injury & senior adults.  Her passion for teaching Pilates lies in the fact that after spending many years in the gym & the classroom, she understands the importance of incorporating the Pilates principles into all forms of movement.  It is her belief that an individual must become strong & balanced from the inside out in order to achieve his or her fitness goals and maximize performance.  She has seen how a consistent Pilates practice has changed the lives of her clients, and is so excited to make the leap to teaching full time.
When Andrea in not teaching others about health & fitness, she loves to take advantage of all of the wonderful things that San Diego has to offer, as it long as it involves her family and friends, activity and being outdoors.
